Diarrhea In Foals

Diarrhea of foals is often called “scours” and implies that the foal is ingesting either too much milk or the mother is in heat (cycling during the foal heat). The most important symptom is the lack of fever or pain. However, even sick foals can show scours before any other symptom, such as a fever, show up. Therefore, it is very important to seek competent advice if you have a foal with diarrhea.
