Training Extreme Trail

Obstacle courses for horses have developed to pose an exciting and challenging sport for horses and their riders.  This type of trail is called an Extreme Trail with various degrees of difficulty.  This encourages the horse to focus as they are asked to clear obstacles such as logs, platforms (stable and rocking) and bridges. 

Speed is not the point when training but control is.  It is like learning to parallel park a car for the first time.  With practice, speed comes without faults. 

Here are some images from an extreme trail course in my neighborhood.  This will give you some idea of what these are like.
