Image 1 of 4 – Usually kick mats are screwed or glued directly to the wall. This man’s idea was to buffer the kick by placing the mat away from the wall. He eventually removed it because the shavings worked their way up behind the mat. Maybe if the bottom edge was about a foot off the ground it would not have been a problem. I thought the idea was good to prevent injury to the horse.
