OverviewInflammatory Respiratory Disease is a diagnosis unknown to me but was given to this horse. I am not sure what the difference is between this and pneumonia, pneumonitis, and bronchitis.
TipThese photos have captions to express any thoughts I have on the picture. The idea here is for YOU to get ideas, so grab a cup of coffee, darken the room, grab a pen and paper to write notes, and sit back and enjoy. I have more shots and I’ll add them later as I have time.

Inflammatory respiratory disease was the official diagnosis for the horse seen in these pictures. I’m not sure if the diagnosis is just a blanket statement for an unknown cause, but this case was very interesting with many unanswered questions. While the University hospital issued the diagnosis, no veterinary treatment was offered to help this horse. He continues to sweat in the area seen here as well as breath at a staggering rate of over 100 breaths per minute.
I suggested this horse be seen for a third opinion. I have not been back to this farm so I have no follow up.
