Enlarged left lobe of the thyroid gland in a 25 year old warmblood. The horse shows no other signs of a thyroid condition and is not on any iodine supplements. The enlargement can easily be seen on this profile view. While it is ventral on the neck, it is the left lobe only. Idiopathic goiter means there is no known cause for the enlargement.
