Hi Doc T. I’d find a session on Cushings Disease useful and would be grateful to hear your thoughts on that. Many thanks!

Rounds With Doc T - "Ins And Outs Of Fat - An Addendum To The April Rounds"
Thank you for another great podcast. I’ve been advised in the past to feed micronised linseed to keep weight on my 23 year old thoroughbred. I’d be greatful for a Doc T’s thoughts. Does linseed contain lectins? I’m still learning about grain free. Many thanks

This might be a fantastic idea. The starch content of oat straw is lower and the lignin content higher. Therefore the horses won’t like it as much. In addition, the manure becomes more yellow than brown. When I exercised polo ponies back in the 70’s in Calif that is all they fed the horses.
Here are 2 images. The 1st is for oat straw (4%…

I’m sorry I couldn’t join the live webinar but I have thoroughly enjoyed listening and learning from the recording.
I am a keen soaker of hay but what do you think of feeding oat or barley straw to horses? The horses will always eat their hay in preference but it can be mixed with some of the hay ration to reduce the over all starch content. -

Don’t worry you are in the right place 😀 But if things are still confusing let us know what we can improve. We do have limitation on what the software is able to do but we are always working on making some improvements in the background.
This topic was a deep one and I think it will be a good one for continued discussion, glad you enjoyed it!

Still figuring out where to post what, but… good topic tonight. Brain was already a bit overwhelmed from listening to the calcium to phosphorous podcast earlier in the afternoon. Husband walked through. Told him I was “in class”. I confess to eating a brownie bite while listening. I think he looked at me askance (but he bought the brownie…

Doc T- I want to thank you for a very informative and helpful one on one call. I really appreciate how much time you spent answering all of my questions. This call cost way less than having my own vet come out and you were willing to answer all my questions in depth. I don’t tend to spend a lot of money on vet visits unless I have an…

Have you ever had someone ask this about not feeding grain to their horses: “But how will he get the energy he needs to work?” I will answer this in tonight’s webinar – “The Ins And Outs Of Fat.” See y’all there (or maybe on the replay). Doc T

@Katluvan I keep poking at the day and time to find an ideal spot but I just can’t find it. However the most important thing is to get as many people as possible to show up to get some interaction (Q&A). Then through the discussions added to a forum we can all dive in deeper.
I really appreciate your interest in this group. I hope this day… Read more
