You can bring some of your questions to tonight’s live Zoom meeting – or the next meeting two weeks from now. You should be about 12 hours ahead – We are in the New York/Miami time zone in daylight savings time.
My hope is always to help others help their horses thrive in a human world, and am disappointed when I hear stories… Read more

Blood glucose (BG) is highly variable due to the time of day, the time taken after a meal, stress, and other factors, such as how well they slept. Therefore, BG is not a good marker of metabolic health.
Here is what I copied from Equus Magazine to explain it further: “Glucose. This sugar is an energy source inside the horse’s cells. Serum… Read more

I have not considered giving lectures as my life is already filled with travel and work. The exception is/was when I was already in the area for floating. Since last September, when I sold my northern part of the practice, I only service all of FL, Long Island ( a land unto itself), and Louisiana. If someone wants me to talk at night in… Read more

Hi Linda; Zoom is a great program to have on your computer, tablet, or phone. It doesn’t take up too much space and it is “safe” to use because they constantly update it with security enhancements. The program can be used to attend any Zoom meeting.
Zoom became popular during COVID and surpassed Skype, Google, Facebook, and all other… Read more

Question: Have you considered giving The Horses Advocate clinics?
Thank you! Wren’s person, Linda.

Thank you so much for this information! I’ve shared and shared with others. I don’t tell them what to do, I just say look up THA and read and listen to the podcasts.
When our vet came in March for routine vaccines/Coggins, his glucose was 232…yikes! This was after I started SBM and soaking hay. I hate to think what it was before. Scary!… Read more

Sorry, one more question, for traveling long distances when we cannot pack enough tested hay, are products like Standlee that state their NSC% is less than 10% safe as a forage substitute, they state this total includes NSC and WSC in their stats but testing is over an extended period of time for their data. Thank you.

Hope I can join to participate in person but if not, but here are the questions…Metformin, applicability and efficacy for a Shetland pony on forage only, tested hay 7.85% NSC through a 1 inch slow feed hay net essentially 24/7, not on any grain, 1/4 cup soaked Timothy pellets and 1/4 cup soybean meal 2X daily, can he benefit from… Read more

Hello,
I would like to learn more about how to look at a label and know whether amino acid chelated minerals are bound to natural amino acids or synthetic amino acids.
What ingredient words am I looking for to be able to differentiate natural vs synthetic amino acids?
Thank you!

Hello,
Wondering if you can tell me why it is common for a vet to prescribe Thyroid L (levothyroxine) in a metabolic horse? I understand Thyroid dysfunction to be a rare root cause of a metabolic problem in a horse.
Also what thyroid function tests would you recommend to determine if there is a Thyroid problem? Certainly something more… Read more
