Yes… I understand the roughage/hay would be a better source of more calories/kJ’s but not so easy for an older horse I have on this diet. His teeth are making it difficult for him to eat the hay so looking for a softer option that will work to get the horse to take on more energy.

Question for tonight….I have made both a plain salt and a pink salt lick available for my mare but she doesn’t take in any salt at all even on our occasional hot day we are starting to enjoy. She isn’t in work at the moment but lives out and has the occasional run with her friend. Should I be concerned?
