Abnormal wearing of the incisors including receding gums on the upper 3’s. My speculation is that the tongue has done all of this in this horse in his late 20’s. In addition the receding gum line may be early stages of EOTRH.Abnormal wearing of the incisors including receding gums on the upper 3’s. The horse does not exhibit any oral vices, however, the movement of his tongue was rapid like a snake, curling upwards, and alternated from one side to the other suggesting this was caused by unusual tongue movement. Also notice that there is no mirror image of the lower incisors over erupting into the lost upper corner incisors. This illustrates that the tongue is the primary shaper of the soft enamel of the incisors. An old horse with unusual wearing of the upper incisors. NOTICE- the tongue has kept the 3/401’s worn down. Also see the wear marks (white on the incisor) on the sides of the displaced 1/201’s and the labial surface of 3/401.
