  1. Hi Dr. Tucker. Your words really hit home with me. Before moving to Amite, LA we lived in the New Orleans area. I had to make the evacuate/don’t evacuate decision many times. It does wreck the psyche! I found the only way I could deal with it was to get my horse to safety first, then I could deal with the rest. Thankfully, we’re blessed with friends and family further inland that accommodated us and our large, four-legged baby. And you’re so right about the guilt of being safe, not everyone talks about that part. It wears on you. We’re thankful you guys are safe, and hope Melissa’s repairs can be done quickly. You guys are always welcome here if the need arises. Take care, be safe!
