I really like your profile photo / icon. You might consider giving yourself a different nickname instead of your email because you may get emails in the future from people you don’t want emails from!
Thank you for finding me via a video about caudal heel pain. Back then I was not as big on nutrition but now I realize how integral nutrition…

Hiya,
Sundance (soon to be 6 year old) rescued Trakehner and I wanted to say Hello and Thank you for the opportunity to be part of this community.
Sundance adopted me two years ago(March 2019) and I’m so grateful he did. Being his mom has been an amazing journey. He is my daily sun to my life’s dance and I would be lost without him. Ok…

Yawning is often thought of as a stress release but there are so many other reasons not associated with stress at all. It is not just the yawn but the movement of the tongue during and after the yawn that may indicate an attempt to clear out debris or distribute saliva.
The first thought is that there is something stuck between the teeth…

@Caroline and @Kerry – We all need to laugh at my absolute brain loss. Honestly I know I did this – added the link days ago. Where it went I have no idea but I can assure you all, you are NOT crazy.
The link and video are now (April 3rd) in the original post Matt made at the top of this discussion. I see it but if it should disappear…. please…

My young mustang yawns every time I feed her. It’s a big sigh relaxing yawn that makes me think she’s stressed up until that point when I feed her. She is on a dry lot(hopefully the grass will pick up and she can start on pasture soon) but she gets feed hay at least three times a day. Of course I would love for her to have hay free choice…

I posted this somewhere else but I must have missed this post (identical on Solitude) – so I will copy and paste here:
From the Zoetis website is the following on how Solitude works:
HOW IT WORKS
1) SOLITUDE IGR is fed daily to the horse and is excreted in the manure.
2) House and stable flies lay their eggs in the manure, and the eggs hatch… -

I’m not sure – but I’ll tell you this. As much as I love garlic in my food, NEVER feed garlic to your horses the morning of when the dentist is coming to work on your horses. I get sick every time I inhale it!
With this in mind, I don’t smell a lot of farms using garlic. Is it a wive’s tale? I would think so because if it really worked, I…

Chia seeds are plant seeds and therefore fall into the seed category when discussing plant lectins. Because of this they are not included in the no-grain approach. But let’s say it was. What is it in Chia seeds that reduces fly inflammation and produces a healthy hair coat? This intrigues me.
We all want the “best” for the horse and keeping…

Thank you for being persistent in finding answers and knowing the difference between cover up solutions versus actually solving problems. This detailed story of discovering answers and then applying them means more to your horse than anyone on the planet, though I would consider myself second or third on the list of ones…

What about garlic? Is this an Old Wives tale or is there some support to feed in small amounts to keep flies/mossies off?
