How to get the Information Out to the Masses
Since December 2024, I have now influenced 7.5 horseowners, they have all moved to the use of SBM and began the process of eliminating the inflammatory junk. I say .5 because I got one on the fence fighting the notions of too much protein, too much chemicals, GMO, estrogen. They are see all the ‘cons’ over the pros and to boot she did… Read more

Rounds With Doc T - January 30, 2025
January 30, 2025 at 8:00 pm (Eastern Time (US and Canada))Rounds With Doc T - January 30, 2025 Date and TimeJanuary 30, 2025 at 8:00 pm (Eastern Time (US and Canada))Webinar ID81267862292DescriptionTopic: Theoretical causes of Cushing's Disease / PPID
Description: The experts are now saying that Cushing's disease (PPID) is a neurodegenerative disease, but that is as far as they are willing to go. But we all see this disease in our horses older than 12 years, and they all look poorly. Why?
Many confuse this disease with Equine Metabolic Syndrome and Insulin Resistance / Dysregulation. I want to clarify the difference. I also want to discuss that there may be a way to normalize horses diagnosed with this disease and, with the help of your veterinarian, get horses off medication.Duration1 hour 30 minutesWebinar Notifications30 minutes beforeWebinar PasswordNo password requiredWebinar LinkVideoHost OnParticipant OffWebinar OptionsMute participants upon entryOnly authenticated users can joinDo not record the webinar. -
Doc-t replied to the discussion Use of DSMO for equines in the forum The Community Barn a year ago
This is a good one, especially since DMSO is one of the 3 medications I would want on a deserted island. Can you guess the other two?
This week’s Rounds has been scheduled, but maybe the next one.

forages - pasture and last summer pasture
Yes, I have a lot of info on this. I searched for “photosynthesis” and found 9 items that included some of the course units, podcasts, and rounds. Go to the spyglass in the upper right corner, type in a word or two, and then hit enter (important to hit enter). Have fun exploring!

How to get the Information Out to the Masses
Thanks, Lynne, for these thoughts. If only I had the time to go around the countryside to give clinics. However, the cost to bring this information is high and is met with my regular job of farm visits. Until I am free to have this site pay all the bills, I must continue to plug away with my approach.
What I do now has increased awareness in… Read more

forages - pasture and last summer pasture
Have you done a specific Zoom meeting on photosynthesis and the seasonal growth of pasture and how it specifically impacts the grazing horse across the seasons; does type of pasture matter in regards to CHO production, when is pasture cellulose, resistant starch, etc, etc.

How to get the Information Out to the Masses
Hi Doc T.
In reference to your March 14, 2024 Rounds inquiry, who is your target market, equine vets or equine owners, who may or may not be horse lovers?
You are swimming upstream against conventional wisdom (marketing and advertising) just like other singular solo(s) such as KC LaPierre, Pat & Linda Parelli, Jean Luc Cornille and a few… Read more

Lynne replied to the discussion manure odor in the forum Systems And Diseases a year ago
Thanks for response. The injured horse had one pile yesterday that stank horribly and was ever so slightly loose. Today’s manure all seemed fine. He is doing well but I think you are right, I have a six month recovery to get 100% recovery. He turns on this leg very cautiously. I and he is fortunate to say the least. I have more questions… Read more

Doc-t replied to the discussion manure odor in the forum Systems And Diseases a year ago
Thanks for this question, Lynn.
The odor and consistency of manure is a reflection of the microbiome of the gut. In any species, a solid consistency, brown color, and non-offensive odor represents a healthy gut microbiome. Free fecal water (the “squirts”) is an example of an inflamed hand gut. A strong and offensive odor also reflects this.… Read more

Hi Doc T, Is manure odor, changes in the general odor, very stinky, rank, an indication of health changes? Thanks, Lynne
