Winter is Coming!
Yes, that’s right—winter. Some of us enjoy a relatively mild winter, but many of us have to make extra considerations to prepare our farms for the colder months. Join me in discussing what we need to do for our horses, barns, and farms to prepare for the winter months. You might just learn a few good tips. Of course, bring… Read more

❤ I am so grateful to you for searching for answers, trying something different, and telling others of your success. This change in the fundamentals of feeding is a prolonged process for many horses when factors with ill effects are given for years. It’s like turning a colossal boat around, often in rough seas. We all look forward to reports… Read more

Wren is a 14.1 traditional bred Morgan and I’ve always dreamed about the day I could hitch him and go for a drive. I’ve hung on to that dream for over 7 years as we battled lameness and metabolic issues. Several times, I thought I would lose him. Then, almost 2 years ago I found THA program. This summer we fought a trimming issue causing him… Read more

So thankful you & Kathy are safe! We only had a couple of broken fences from limbs during Helene. So we fared well. Continued prayers for all those suffering from losses in Florida & WNC.

Hurricane Milton passed north of us last night and is now off the coast and heading into the Atlantic Ocean. We only lost a small section of fence line. However, many tornados touched down in the surrounding areas, with several deaths and severe property loss. Our prayers go to those less fortunate with Helene and Milton.
I’ll see all of you… Read more

Diagnosing PPID (Cushing’s) is complex and should not be based just on one ACTH level. Therefore, many horses are misdiagnosed but still placed on medication. However, I am unaware of any reports of horses without PPID having an adverse effect from being treated.
Some of the effects of Prascend and pergolide are blotchy hair coats or… Read more
