Wound irrigation is important. Cleanliness is happiness! But being gently does not get the job done.

Scrubbing with gauze and Betadine is essential followed by flushing with high pressure water. Using peroxide is fine too. Anything to dislodge dirt with minor attention to the non-sterile environment of hose water. Follow everything with…

@Katlovan – Thanks for this question. I too have questions about oral supplementation so I listened to a Platinum Performance (PP) podcast on this subject just 2 days ago. Funny how that happens.

While it was a product sponsored podcast, the information was really good in describing what a joint is and how they work. The vet being interviewed…

Biting a carrot is a classic test for incisor pain from EOTRH. It truly is a “huge red flag” when they cannot bite it in two. Thanks for this info!

The improvement is remarkable! I have a client with progress images seeing the same results even though she refuses to eliminate grain. This indicates (but in no way proves) that lectins may be responsible for the disease.

My thought on the incisor tarter or the reduced cleaning of the labial (and often lingual) side of the incisors is that…

To all members – I just added a new field in the member profile where you can add where you are from. This is an optional field but I think that knowing where we all generally come from adds a dimension of empowering the overall goal of helping all horses everywhere.

For me, knowing there are members from around the world means that there…

      Hi Kerry

There are a lot of possibilities here. The first thing I would ask is whether this occurs when he is engaged or does this toe dragging occur only when he is traveling without engagement. If this is the case, is the toe dragging just laziness or is there pain he is willing to forget as his brain focuses on the task at hand?

      Toe…

Reply to Can't find SBM in Northern California

I have heard from others on the FB group asking the same thing. Then I hear from someone in Kenya who had no trouble finding SBM. It seems to be hit or miss.

Some travel an hour once or twice a month to get theirs. We are lucky as our local feed dealer is about 2 miles from us and delivers it. And they get it from Ohio.

      CA is a large…

I just heard a 2 hour podcast on muscle formation and how important the creation of muscle is in overall health of humans. This is worthy of a podcast discussion as it relates to the health of our horses.

Simply put, more muscle = more places to store excess glucose without fat formation. It is an integral part of maintaining blood glucose…
