I have been listening to a very interesting, 25 hour long book about the history of human nutritional research as I drive. The bad news take-away is that egos, the news media and poor technology all combined to deliver confusing, conflicting and ever changing information of what we were supposed to eat to remain healthy. Yet today heart disease, obesity, diabetes, cancer and dementia are more prevalent than ever.

The good news take-away is there are more researchers with better equipment seeking and finding better answers. While this is great for humans, I am still not seeing this translate to our horses. This motivates me to translate new human information into “horse information.”

Check out my podcasts and block out the last Monday of the month for my webinars. Speaking of which, I think the April webinar will be on “the ins and outs of fat – the roll of the fat cell in the health of horses.” Understanding how fat gets into and out of the fat cell may sound too difficult, complicated or too detailed, but it is important to understand if you want to get your horses healthy.

Please let me know if this subject is something you will be interested in or if you would rather have another in-depth subject discussed. The link and title for this month’s webinar is coming very soon so don’t delay. Also we are adjusting the day and time again to find the “sweet spot” with the goal of delivering to the largest number of live people. As always, it will be recorded for members to listen later.
