    Howdy Advocates!

I hope everyone is staying safe during this storm. If you are in the path, I hope any property damage will be minimal, and your family and animals will be safe. In light of the conditions, we are moving our meeting from the 10th to the 17th. All other meetings will remain as scheduled.

For this week’s discussion, I want to invite Jacqueline Fagan, one of my graduates from the Horsemanship Dentistry School, to discuss equine dentistry with me and the current landscape of dentistry with horses.

0:01:52 – Prascend causing dental problems in horses.

0:04:01 – A discussion of a neurological connection between the brain with the teeth and jaw and the “balancing” of the mouth.

0:07:59 – Horses on the no-grain diet with SBM develop aggressive behavior when stressed (traveling to a show, associating with new horses). Is it OK to use a medication like omeprazole for times like this?

0:18:28 – I review Energy Flux as the overarching principle behind life and nutrition.

0:20:17 – Linda reports her first successful drive after years of getting her horse to become a willing partner.

0:26:09 – Jacqueline speaks about her experience in horsemanship dentistry.

0:32:40 – Do horses remember past experiences that trigger current abnormal behavior?

0:35:42 – Why do people stick with what they know and not listen to other options? This is why I started my journey at THA: I wasn’t getting the answers from siloed-thinking people.

0:46:22 – Jacqueline asks about feeding soybeans (not SBM). We talk a lot about SBM, glyphosate, and non-GMO SBM.

0:53:53 – How much protein is too much for horses?

End – The last minute, when we all said goodbye, was clipped off! So thank you for being here or for watching as a replay. Doc T

Hurricane Milton passed north of us last night and is now off the coast and heading into the Atlantic Ocean. We only lost a small section of fence line. However, many tornados touched down in the surrounding areas, with several deaths and severe property loss. Our prayers go to those less fortunate with Helene and Milton.

I’ll see all of you next week. Doc T

So thankful you & Kathy are safe! We only had a couple of broken fences from limbs during Helene. So we fared well. Continued prayers for all those suffering from losses in Florida & WNC.
