Hello from Central Texas. I joined because I “accidentally ” found the podcast on soaking hay when I was desperately searching for some answers (mostly reasons NOT to soak hay) I wasn’t successful. It’s a necessity for my gelding, no way around it at this time. Well, one thing lead to another and I started a head first dive into more of the podcasts and was intrigued. I have always argued with myself (yes, I do that) that there has got to be a better way to feed these animals. I have tried just about every single feed on the market, I’m not even exaggerating, and I’m never happy with the results! I own 2 horses currently. 1 is a 17 yr old gelding and the other is a 10 yr old mare we are going to breed this year. Both horses are used for roping and running barrels and both horses have had a slew of health issues. Whats lead me here. I’m looking forward to being a part of this forum and learning as much as I can.

Welcome katc! I hope you can find your answers on this website. There are tons of searchable articles. However, we have the most fun and interaction on our biweekly Zoom calls. The next one is Thursday, Feb 29th, @8PM Eastern. There, you can ask Doc T questions directly and join in on discussions with other members. But no worries if you can’t make it. You can always submit questions ahead of time and listen to the replays. The replay will be posted on the forum the next day. You will be notified by email on the Tuesday before and the day of the Zoom meeting. If somehow you miss that, Matt always posts the link in the forum. If you have any questions, please reach out! Thank you for being a member of the Horse’s Advocate!
