    Welcome new members!

Think of this forum as a barn party where there are others already with a coffee or a beer in their hand talking about their horses. You haven’t even cleared your throat because you are nervous. You don’t know anyone. And they don’t know you.

Breathe! We all are horse owners trying to find answers in the missing horse owner’s manual. No one is stupid here. But if we don’t start asking questions, how will we learn?

    • Step 1 – Subscribe to this forum by clicking the white button with blue letters that says “Subscribe.” You can always unsubscribe but when subscribed, you will get notifications when a new member joins. Then you will be able to welcome them yourself.
    • Step 2 – Click the big blue button that says “New discussion.”
    • Step 3 – Add a “Discussion Title” at the top of the box that appears at the bottom of the page. This can be your nickname or you can use your full name. It doesn’t matter. It could be “Kathy from Florida” Whatever you want. However, your nickname should be unique because there will be more than one member who shares your first name.
    • Step 4 – In the area called “Type your discussion content here“, say something about yourself. Add a picture, file or emoji if you want or stylize your content using the icons in the box. Look at the pinned-to-the-top discussion titled “Staff Introduction – Matt” as an example. Do this in a text editor first to help spelling and grammar if this is important to you
    • Step 5 – click the blue button that says “Post.”
    • Step 6 – Click on your discussion to confirm that it looks OK. If not, click the “” to edit.
    • Step 7 – Click the white button with blue letters “Subscribe” to this discussion (not the forum as in step 1 above) and receive notifications of all replies. Feel the warm feeling of people welcoming you into this community.

You did it! In time you will be notified of any replies or of other new members. Now go an explore. Remember, just like with the other social media platforms, you will need to check in regularly to learn or contribute. The difference here is that we all will be looking at horses from a different perspective while remaining safe from prying eyes, bullies and endless marketing.
