I found Doc T and the no grain challenge in Sept 2018 when my FEI dressage horse was dangerously explosive at a show. I realized he was screaming to me that there was a problem and I knew I had to find it and fix it or sell him to a pro.

I was looking at everything (vet, body work, saddle fit, bridle fit, farrier, management). It was my bodyworker who suggested reading Doc T’s blogs. My four horses have been completely grain free and on this program for 2-1/2 years and I couldn’t be happier. It transformed my dressage horse and he hasn’t had a single explosion since I pulled grain. All my horses are maintaining weight and lost fat and put on muscle and are self-regulating. I’ve saved a ton of money and am no longer using Ulcerguard or suppliments. I have numerous friends and neighbors following this program now with good results and more people reaching out almost every day to ask questions and get started.

Thank you for all you’ve taught me and others so far Doc T! I am excited for the next chapter with this new website. I think your online zoom discussions in particular are going to be great learning opportunities.

Welcome Kathy! Your horses are a great example of the success people are having with this way of feeding. I think the zoom meeting are going to be fun and very informative. Please feel free to suggest topics for discussion!

Happy to know you stopped drugs to your horses. I have a 5 years old arrived at my place in July 2020 ( so he is on grain free since 6 months), after a long trip from UK. He is still very girthy and I am obsessed about it. The temptation to add something to help him is very high….

Ulcer meds disrupt the healthy gut microbes and make them, if I recall correctly, populate different areas of the gut than they are supposed to populate. Much better in my experience to eliminate the cause than to treat the symptom. Hopefully your mare will adjust well!

Wow that is terrific! Welcome! I am so glad that your horses are doing better on the no grain diet. I hope they continue to do well and you can continue to connect with them 🙂

Hi Kathy – always good to hear the no-grain positive experiences. I went grain free to help my enormous TB who stops sweating once the temps get to 95 deg. Helped short-term but not entirely fixed – there have been other complicating factors. My other guys went GF too and they are happy & healthy.
