Hi, my name is Chrissy and I live in a rural community called Humpty Doo in the Northern Territory in Australia. I’m excited to join this forum in the search for better health for my two horses, in particular, my rising 19 year old Australian Stock Horse (ASH), who, until I stumbled upon the ‘No Sweat Diet’ of Dr T’s suffered terribly from Queensland Itch or Sweet Itch. He’s been on the diet now for 5 months and the results are amazing. Like anyone, there is so much to learn about nutrition with horses, I found looking for information on google/face book overwhelming/contradictory and confusing. As a newcomer to the world of horses I found it even more so as listening to so many ‘experts’ and their vary opinions and trying for 2 years to make my ASH more comfortable equaled to huge cost and little reward until I started using the ‘Grain Free Diet’. With a much happier, contented horse I decided to take a further step into learning for both my horses’ sake by joining this special group.

Welcome Chrissy! I love this part: ” I found looking for information on google/face book overwhelming/contradictory and confusing.” So true!

Sorry about the time difference but hope you can join us this Sunday at 8pm New York time to discuss “Aerobic exercise and its effect on insulin resistance.”

We are a small group today but we are a group who is very interested in peeling away all the misinformation – to “decomplexicate” feeding horses.

Great news about your success with the no-grain diet. You might want to expand on your story in the forum called “No Grain Challenge.” Thanks for joining.

Thank you for the welcome Dr T. My apologies for the very late response. I’ve been away interstate in New South Wales buying my ‘dream’ horse who will allow my elderly much loved ASH to eventually step back a bit and enjoy semi retirement once the young gelding is able to be safely taken to riding clinics and events.

Now that I’m back and settling into normal routine I’ll be a more frequent visitor.

      Cheers

      Chrissy
