Back in 1975 a TB stallion at our barn covered a mare and upon dismounting, circled and died on the spot. Our own TB stallion died suddenly – found in the paddock one morning with grass in his mouth. The sudden death of Thoroughbreds has been around for a while and there is no causation yet determined for sudden death. Is it just in stallions? Is it the heart or is it an aorta aneurism? If anyone else has some information on this we would love to hear it. Doc T
