Hey everyone! 15 days on the road and lots of horses seen from Florida to Kentucky, Virginia, Maryland and New York. While a lot of horses now have good teeth, what I found most fascinating was that everyone wants to know about feeding their horses. I repeated how fat forms and the role of insulin – usually 3 or more times a day.

So many have horses with IR, Cushing’s, obesity, lameness or a combination of these. The owners ask questions, listen intently, accept newsletters and are invited to learn more here. This should be exhausting but it’s not. I just return here to see all of you serious and committed to learning well enough to help those you see. Your commitment inspires me to learn more and keep teaching.

      Thank you!

When I’m home I’ll be making more podcasts as well as working on the next webinar on the 31st. I just learned how insulin affects the liver’s ability to convert saturated fat into a monounsaturated fat which promotes the formation of triglycerides and the increase of body fat. This will become the early warning test for the beginning of diabetes way before 1AC rises in a blood test. Could this be applied to horses thus making obsolete the oral glucose tolerance test? Imagine – a simple blood test to determine if your horse is eating too much glucose and is starting on the path of body fat accumulation (a SYMPTOM of liver reaction to high glucose intake) which leads to the too numerous to count illnesses and lamenesses of our horses.

      WOW!
