Developmental Orthopedic Disease

Developmental orthopedic diseases (DOD) are bone diseases of foals that occur when they are overfed in utero (the mother is overfed) or early in life.

Below are images of osteochondrosis dissicans, epiphysitis, and contracted tendons. These are discussed in the musculoskeletal section. Wobblers is also considered a DOD.
