Inducing Birth In Mares

I induced a lot of mares when I was in practice. I will fill you in with details when I get a moment. For now, there are a few things to remember:

  • The foal must be at least 330 days old (accurate records) to survive.
  • The cervix must be dilated.
  • If the mare doesn’t deliver the foal within 20 to 30 minutes after injection, there is usually a problem.
