Covered Horse Arenas

Overview
Covering the arena does several things but the most important is to protect you from the elements, mainly rain and sun. In the north the sides are covered as well to keep the wind out.
Tip
These photos have captions to express any thoughts I have on the picture. The idea here is for YOU to get ideas, so grab a cup of coffee, darken the room, grab a pen and paper to write notes, and sit back and enjoy. I have more shots and I’ll add them later as I have time.

Discussion:

Here are pictures of some covered arenas for you to get some ideas from.

Our own covered arena in upstate New York where we had very cold winters had only a half wall along the south side which let in sun for lighting as well as warmth in the winter.

Here are pictures of covered arenas from the outside and the inside from all over the US. The early pictures are from over 10 years ago so the image quality improves with time.

Discussion to follow. If you want me to move this up on the schedule, let me know.
